About the Lady Colts Flag Football Program

The Lady Colts Flag Football Program, based at The Farm League in Klein, TX, is North Houston’s premier all-girls flag football organization. We offer competitive select teams and advanced training for girls ages 6 to 18, including high-level tournament play and league development opportunities.

Founded in 2021 as the first all-girls select flag football program in Houston, we started with a single award-winning 10U team. Since then, we’ve grown rapidly in both size and success:

• 2022: Expanded to four teams (8U, 10U, 12U, 14U) and launched our Lil' Colts Training Team

• 2023: Grew to 7 teams and won multiple titles including:

  • Battle 5 National Champions

  • FFX Cowboys Tournament Champions

  • Rise Up Lonestar Shootout Champions

  • Centex Sports Texas Showdown Champions

  • Platinum Bracket finish at We Run the World Championships

• 2024 (Season 4): Now fielding 9 teams across 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and High School divisions, plus training and development squads

  • Our 12U Pink Team is currently ranked #3 in the nation

The Lady Colts program continues to gain national recognition as a leader in girls’ flag football, providing a pathway for young athletes to grow, compete, and thrive.

Why Girls' Flag Football?

Flag football is now one of the fastest-growing sports for young women in the U.S.:

• Participation has doubled in high schools in just one year (21,000 in 2022–23 to nearly 43,000 in 2023–24)

• Over 500,000 girls ages 6–17 play nationwide

• 13 states now offer it as a varsity sport, with 20+ more piloting or evaluating adoption

• NAIA colleges offer programs and scholarships

• UT Arlington will launch the first NCAA Division I Women’s Flag Football Team in 2027

• The sport will debut at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles

This growth is driven by grassroots programs like ours, national momentum from NFL initiatives, and a cultural movement toward gender equity in athletics. Flag football builds more than just athletic skill—it fosters leadership, confidence, and teamwork in young women.

We welcome new players year-round through our player evaluation process. Prior flag football experience is not required—bring your athleticism, attitude, and effort, and we’ll coach you up.

We offer:

• Tournament Teams (ages 7–18):

  • 8–10 girls per roster

  • Multiple teams per age group based on demand

  • Travel includes regional tournaments (mostly in Dallas and Austin) and national-level events out of state

• Development Teams & Training Program:

  • High-level training and league play

  • Ideal for athletes who are also in another primary sport and need flexible scheduling

  • Prepares players for future tournament-level play

Most of our athletes also compete in other select or club sports—and still thrive in our program thanks to our flexible, athlete-first approach.
